About Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Silver Tequila
Daniel Schneeweiss and Moises Guindi were two college friends, inspired by Mexico’s booming creative scene. The scene was thriving with innovation in all area but with tequila: the forgotten art became either a caricature of an ancient tradition or a trendy celebrity-supported endeavor. To bridge the rich Mexican tradition and creative innovation in the right way, they launched Milagro Tequila in 1997.
‘Milagro is agave’s maximum expression’ to paraphrase the words of the founders. Agave is matured for 8 to 12 years before the harvest. Once the piñas – agave hearts – are extracted and later roasted for 36 hours in small brick ovens. Triple distillation is used: twice through a copper pot still and then a third time through a column still for that agave-forward flavor.
Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Silver Tequila is a 100% blue agave tequila. This crystal clear agave-forward liquid greets with crisp and fresh citrus notes that echo on the palate along with vegetal and citrus notes, rounded by a spicy black pepper finish.
Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Añejo Tequila won the Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2019, and it scored 96-100 points from Wine Enthusiast in 2020.
