With Nàdar, meaning nature in Gaelic, the Stirling brothers harnessed the power of nature and science to create a gin that not only tastes delicious but also helps fight climate change and biodiversity loss. With a carbon footprint of -1.54 kg CO2e per 700ml bottle, this delicious gin prides itself as the world’s first carbon-neutral, climate-positive gin. After five long years of research, Kirsty Black (the head distiller with a Ph.D. in Gin-making) and her team of Ph.D. students from Abertay University and The James Hutton Institute came up with this refreshing limited-edition, experimental batch distilled from peas. Why peas? Because they don’t need synthetic nitrogen fertilizer to grow, unlike traditional crops used for creating a base alcohol spirit.
